Troops of Sector Two Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, have cleared terrorist enclaves in Torcachi, Giginya and Tashar Ganji villages across Matazu, Musawa and Kankia Local Government Areas.

During the operations, the troops supported by operatives of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, recovered 175 rustled livestock.

A statement by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, says the terrorists abandoned their camps and fled following sustained pressure from security forces during the clearance operations.

The recovered livestocks are currently in military custody and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities in Matazu Local Government Area.

In a separate operation, troops of the 171 Battalion stationed at the Forward Operating Base, FUDMA, reportedly acted on credible intelligence on terrorists fleeing from recent military offensives in Dikawa.

The troops subsequently laid an ambush along the Matazu–Dutsin-Ma axis, resulting in a gun duel during which three suspected terrorists were neutralized.

Items recovered from the suspects include two AK-47 rifles with loaded magazines, one motorcycle, three cutlasses and assorted charms.
