We won’t tolerate defamation of Ekwunife’s personality – Group

Anambra Community Traditional Title Holders Association has expressed worry over alleged certificate forgery against personality of the deputy governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Uche Ekwunife.

The group also condemned reported destruction of Iyom/APC campaign billboards by some sponsored anti-democratic elements in the state.

In a communique issued after its meeting on Saturday and signed by State Chairman/Convener, Chief Augustine Nweke, the group warned that it would not tolerate defamation of Ekwunife’s name and personality for whatever political reasons.

It however endorsed the candidature of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as the party’s standard bearer for the November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The statement reads in part, “The Association comprised of all Title Holders endorse the ‘Wind of glory agenda’ of Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu as a plan for the developmental path of Anambra State and her citizens.

“As part of our mobilization strategies to ensure the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come November 8, 2025, we hereby direct all coordinators at communities and wards level to disseminate the texts of this communique to members and affiliated groups at the grassroot.

Massive votes for Ukachukwu-Ekwunife

The communique urges members to await further engagement from the state working committee of the cultural Association.

“Traditional Title holders across Anambra State are by this communique encouraged to vote massively for the candidates of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate Sen. Uche Lilian Ekwunife in the forthcoming elections.

“Parents and guardians should help to stem any participation of their children from any form of violence as it preaches and advocates for non-violent elections.

“We observed with dismay, the unfounded allegation of certificate forgery and reported destruction of Iyom/APC campaign billboards by some sponsored anti-democratic elements in Anambra State against the personality of Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife.

“That we further observe with total dismay that Prof. C.C. Soludo stood as the only Governor in Nigeria to unconstitutionally reduce the tenure of office of the LG elected officers in the state.

“He deprived them totally of their financial Autonomy in disobedience of the Supreme Court Judgement.

“An action that blocked the supposed rapid development of the rural areas in one of the oil states in Nigeria that received their monthly allocation based on the state oil deposit derivation.

“The Association equally warn that the name and personality of distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife should henceforth not to be malign for whatever political reasons now and in future.

“All Title Holders and leaders at all level of this Association are admonished to continue offering prayers for successful and peaceful election come November 8th, 2025 and thereafter.”
