Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting programmes and advocacy efforts that support the wellbeing, education and development of children across the state.
Soludo, also the Founder of Healthy Living Initiative gave the assurance in a message to mark the 2026 World Day Against Child Labour.
The commemoration was themed, “Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults”.
She stressed that every child deserved the freedom to learn, dream, play and grow in a safe and promising environment.
She warned that no child should be burdened with responsibilities that affect their childhood, education, health and future prospects.
Dr Soludo described child labour as a crime against humanity, conscience and faith.
The governor’s wife called for renewed commitment to protecting children from exploitation.
She advised, “As we observe the World Day Against Child Labour, let’s renew our collective commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and welfare of every child.
“We must continue to create opportunities that allow our children to thrive, while addressing the social, cultural, and economic challenges that expose them to exploitation.
“Child labour is not just a crime against humanity; it is a crime against conscience and faith.”
