Anambra State newly sworn-in Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Barr Udoji Amedu has assured commitment of his leadership towards making Anambra State tourism destination in Nigeria.
He also expressed readiness to work towards unlocking the untapped potentials of the tourism centers across the state.
Speaking at the reception ceremony organized in his honour soon after his swearing-in ceremony along others Commissioners, Amedu also promised to create avenues aimed at making tourism industry in the state more attractive.
“As part of the Solution 2.0 movement which is the second tenure of Governor Soludo, I am determined to help the Governor to bringing the required innovations capable of making tourism industry in the state to boom.
“As a ministry which is more or less creative, I’ll work towards unlocking the untapped potentials of the tourism centers across the state such as the Owellezukala Waterfall, the Ogbunike Cave and the Anam Sand Beach, among others,” he added.
Member representing Ayamelum Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Bernard Udemezue described the Commissioner as not only a political father and renowned figure in Ayamelum, but also great stakeholder in the state.
Attention to the system
Appreciating Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing the Commissioner in his cabinet, Udemezue advised Amedu to pay attention to the system and adjust accordingly to enable him succeed in his mandates.
Also speaking, Deputy Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Felicia Oruya described Amedu as a great man, who had been the executive chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area as well as a Transition Committee Chairman.
She warned the people of Ayamelum Local Government Area to understand that Amedu is their own and should avoid anything capable of pulling him down as he serves the state.
Also, a university don, Prof Arinze Obiorah, described Amedu as a seasoned administrator and man of ideas.
He urged him to bring his vast ideas to bear by adding the required values, ideas and innovations in the ministry.
Speaking separately, State House of Assembly aspirant under AGPA for Ayamelum Constituency, Emmanuel Obodoeze, his strong rival, Paul Okoye Anyaegbunam and Mayoral candidate for Ayamelum Local Government Area, Emma Mgbechi advised Amedu to work in accordance with directions of the Governor to enable him deliver.
