A legal luminary, Akachukwu Maduakolam, over the weekend formally declared his intention to represent Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Maduakolam made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ihiala Local Government Area Council Secretariat, where he outlined his vision and agenda for the constituency.

Addressing attendees, the aspirant assured ndi-Ihiala of quality, responsive representation, pledging leadership that constituents would be proud of.

He also highlighted interventions carried out through his CLEAN Ihiala and JAMIE pet projects, noting that these initiatives were funded with personal resources to positively impact the community.

The meeting progressed with stakeholders applauding his declaration until the Secretary of Ihiala LGA, Chinedu Aribodor, alleged that some elements had already endorsed the re-election of the incumbent lawmaker, Pascal Agbodike.

His claim sparked immediate uproar, as stakeholders rejected the assertion, insisting no such endorsement existed.

Calm was restored following the intervention of the Mayor of Ihiala LGA, Anayo Orjiakor, who firmly dismissed the endorsement claim.

He clarified that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had not endorsed any candidate for the House of Representatives seat.

Orjiakor reiterated the party’s commitment to transparency, unity, and internal democracy as political activities continue ahead of the elections.

Stakeholders at the meeting also described the alleged endorsement as false and misleading.

They emphasized that the party remains committed to due process in line with the leadership principles of Charles Soludo and has not backed any aspirant at this stage.

The meeting was attended by key political figures, including the APGA chairman in Ihiala, former mayors such as Chinedu Ukachukwu and Barth Awugosi, alongside other party executives.
