Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State has warned officers and men to boost operational readiness and show total commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
State Commandant, Maku Olatunde issued the directive while addressing them at an identification parade at the State Command Headquarters in Awka.
He said the Command carries huge responsibilities and must continually prove its value through results.
He tasked operatives to stay vigilant, maintain high operational efficiency, observe Standard Operating Procedures, Rules of Engagement, and abide by the Service Order in the course of discharging their duties.
Maku said, “Any lapses in duty will no longer be overlooked. Any officer found negligent or ineffective will be removed immediately and may face disciplinary action.
“The time of being unaware of what you are supposed to do is over. Complacency, indolence and indiscipline have no place in this Command. Every officer must be at his duty post as and when due.”
The NSCDC State helmsman said the warning became necessary to reposition the Command to better confront security challenges across the state while keeping focus on the NSCDC’s core mandates.
