Join politics to fix Nigeria’s leadership challenges, Otti tells citizens

Gov. Alex Otti of Ania State

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on Nigerians, particularly members of faith-based organisations, to actively participate in politics as a means of addressing the country’s leadership challenges.

Otti made the call while speaking at a public event in Umuahia, where he stressed the need for credible individuals to get involved in governance in order to shape the nation’s future.

He said that the persistent leadership crisis in Nigeria could only be resolved when citizens with integrity and strong moral values take part in the political process, rather than remaining on the sidelines.

The governor urged religious groups to move beyond advocacy and prayers by encouraging their members to contest elections and contribute meaningfully to policy-making and leadership.

According to him, politics should not be left solely in the hands of a few, adding that wider participation would promote accountability, transparency and good governance.

Otti noted that Nigeria’s development depends largely on the quality of its leadership, which he said could be improved if more well-meaning citizens join the political space.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance and called on Nigerians to play active roles in building a better nation.
