Wounded cyclist seeks N1.46m to clear medical bill in Anambra hospital

A commercial motorcyclist in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr Sunday Ugama has made a public appeal for financial assistance to enable him offset his hospital bill of N1,459,450.

Ugama, who spoke from his hospital bed in Nnewi said he was admitted to the health facility in January 2026 following an accident that affected his two legs.

He lamented that the cost of his treatment has continued to rise beyond his means, adding that the situation was worsened by personal loss and hardship.

According to him, the wife died six years ago, leaving him to cater for their four children, the eldest of whom is 17 years old.

Ugama, a native of Ezza Local Government Area of Ebonyi State but resides in Abubor, Nnewichi, Nnewi, appealed passionately for assistance from government, organizations, groups and well-meaning individuals.

He said offsetting his medical bills would not only afford him reunite with his children who were currently out of school, but to resume catering for them.

“My children have all dropped out of school, and we now depend on the kindness of individuals for our daily meals.

“If no one helps, we do not eat, let alone handle other responsibilities.

“I’m pleading with government, groups and individuals to come to my aid to clear my hospital bills,” he appealed.
