APGA warns: Miss April 30 revalidation deadline, lose primary eligibility

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has fixed April 30 as the final deadline for membership revalidation and registration ahead of the 2027 general election.

The party said the deadline applies to all intending members as well as existing members

nationwide.In a public notice issued by APGA National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, said the exercise was in compliance with Section 77(5) of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates political parties to submit a comprehensive digital membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Opara explained that only members whose details are captured in the party’s digital register to be submitted to INEC would be eligible to participate in the party’s primary election processes for the 2027 polls.

He said this includes participation either as aspirants or as voters and delegates.

‘Failure to revalidate or register before the stated deadline shall render such persons ineligible to participate in any APGA primary election process,” he said.

The spokesman urged all aspirants and intending members to utilise the remaining days to complete their registration through the party’s official website.

He added that no extension would be granted after the April 30 deadline.Opara emphasised that the notice was issued for strict compliance by all concerned.
