Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has reaffirmed Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s unwavering commitment to supporting private school owners.
Chuma-Udeh stated this while hosting leaders of Private Education Network of Schools Association of Nigeria (PENSAN) in Awka.
She expressed government readiness to address any unwarranted taxation, potential harassment and intimidation from external sources.
She emphasized the critical role of private schools in the state’s education system, a fact fully recognized by the Governor.
The Commissioner assured the association that all children of school age belong to the state, regardless of the sector they were enrolled in.
“We wish to reaffirm government’s openness to collaborating with the private school sector.
“We’ll also address any unwarranted taxation or interference from charlatans,” she added.
Earlier, PENSAN Chairman, Christian Nwanosike, commended government for making it easier for private school owners to operate in the state.
He described provision of enabling environment by Soludo-led government ss significant improvement over previous administrations.
Nwanosike further endorsed Governor Soludo for a second term at the same time lauded the leadership of Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh.
“Your compassionate approach to addressing our concerns has helped reduce fears of unwanted intrusion by unauthorized parties,” he added
