Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim says Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration would not relent in delivering good governance to the people of the state.
Ibezim stated this at the 21st Annual Diocesan Council of Laity Retreat of Anglican Diocese of Awka themed, “Sow Good Seeds Ahead” holding at Church of Pentecost, Awka.
He said the massive infrastructural development in the state had transformed most of the rural communities to urban cities.
The Deputy Governor cited Ebenebe and Obaofemili communities which were no go areas before the inception of the present administration due to deplorable road network.
He said, “Those from Ebenebe and Obaofemili will agree with me that before now, the cloth you came out from your house with will be different from the one you wore in church.
“Those areas are also a place for punitive transfer of erring priests to learn. But they are now competitive.
“Aside the good roads, priests now enjoy all manner of fresh food and other goodies. It’s now those in town who are hungry.
“This is not politics, but simply the dividend of good governance.
“Besides, I came here because our administration recognizes ecumenicalism, even in appointment.
“Little wonder our governor was awarded father of ecumenism.”
While condemning idolatry in its entirety, Ibezim urged the congregation to support the governor, especially in his fight against insecurity and idolatry.
“What we’re doing is for God and not man. Everywhere is calm because the governor is working.
“Our party, APGA has re-nominated us because of our good works.
“As the governor is delivering on his campaign promises, let us in our little corner support him to restore peace and sanity totally to the state.
“As parents, we must inculcate moral values so we don’t lose them to various forms of societal vices.
“We must live righteously to enjoy long life and good health.
“Let’s not be weary in well doing because people will only remember what we’ve done, not our wealth and possession,” he added.
