Shun quick riches, embrace steady climb of learning – Movie star urges youths

A Nollywood actor, Nobert Oguegbu has urged youths in Anambra state to reject the siren call of quick riches and embrace the steady climb of learning.

He also urged them to shun Yahoo-Yahoo, ritual killing, cultism, kidnapping, banditry and other social vices.

Oguegbu gave the advice at Afo-Adike Stadium Obosi during the first Idemili North Scholarship Awards, organized by the Igboebisi Empowerment Foundation in collaboration with Kosisochukwu Iweka Child Development Foundation.

“Youths in the state must reject the siren call of quick riches and embrace the steady climb of learning.

“They must also shun Yahoo-Yahoo, ritual killing, cultism, kidnapping and banditry,” he added.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh expressed appreciation to well meaning individuals for their collaborative activities in the education and skill empowerment of Anambra children.

She thanked the organizers for the award, which she said was in line with the public private community partnership PPCP of the present administration.

Earlier, founder Kosisochukwu Iweka Child Development Foundation, Kosisochukwu Iweka disclosed that the program was the provision of N50million worth of scholarship to deserving children across Idemili North.

Iweka, wife of the Chairman, Anambra State Council of traditional rulers, His Majesty, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III appealed to all adults to assist in training the child whether biological child or not.
