Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has reassured the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) commitment to conduct of free, fair and credible election in the forthcoming November 8 governorship poll.
He declared that the exercise would be “One man, one vote.”
Speaking at the flag-off of the local government campaign in Nkpor in Idemili North local government area, the Governor reflected on the resounding success the party experienced in the area during the last election cycle.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Idemili North for their support ahead of the election.
“We are here to ostensibly say thank you. In 2021, Idemili North gave us a decisive victory,” Soludo stated, emphasizing the crucial role the area has played in the party’s past successes.
While highlighting remarkable shift he has observed in the State’s political landscape, Soludo said, “Something phenomenal is happening in Anambra state where communities are sponsoring the campaigns by themselves.
People’s movement
The Governor said, “The people are taking over the campaign. It is the people’s movement, a sentiment that resonated deeply with the enthusiastic crowd.”
The Governor seized the opportunity to commend the stakeholders of the area for their unwavering support, stating, “I appreciate the stakeholders of Idemili North. In all sectors, Anambra is rising.”
He also shared his vision for the future of the state, asserting, “Anambra is turning from a departure lounge to a destination,” indicating his commitment to transforming the state into a hub of economic and social prosperity.
“The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is steadfast in its commitment to the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections, declaring that it should be, “One man, one vote.”
The Council chairman, Engr. Stanley Nkwoka and Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Community Affairs, Mr. Asha Nnabuife emphasized the importance of community representation in the electoral process.
They noted that the individuals present at the gathering were drawn from the polling units which they said further highlights the engagement of ndị Idemili North in the state’s political landscape.
Various groups, including Solution Teachers, market vendors, beneficiaries of One Youth Two Skills, and Keke riders appreciated the Governor for his administration’s transformational efforts in sectors of the state economy.
