The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) has opened a call for its AI and Tech Accountability Reporting Fellowship.

The programme aims to give journalists in Nigeria the tools, expertise, and insights needed to navigate the complexities of artificial intelligence (AI) in today’s world.

The fellowship is designed to support journalists and media professionals in investigating the role of artificial intelligence and technology in shaping public life.

It provides funding, mentorship, and resources to help fellows produce investigative reports on ethical implications, transparency, fairness, and accountability of AI systems and technological advancements.

The AI and Tech Accountability Reporting Fellowship will enable journalists to deeply explore AI’s ethical, economic, and social implications while crafting explanatory and insightful stories.

It will empower a new generation of reporters to produce in-depth articles, multimedia reports, or investigations highlighting issues surrounding AI ethics, regulation, and societal consequences.

Application closes on April 17, 2025.
