Fidelity Bank

Fidelity Bank has pledged support for the Anambra State Government’s planned moral and ethical reformation campaign aimed at reshaping societal values and empowering young people.

The commitment was made on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, when officials from Fidelity Bank’s Ziks Avenue branch in Awka paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, following his reappointment.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Mefor said Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second-term administration, known as “Solution 2.0,” officially commenced on March 17, 2026, with a renewed mission to restructure the state.

He explained that the Ministry of Information was renamed to include “Value Reformation” in line with the government’s resolve to promote discipline, integrity, and responsible conduct among citizens, especially youths.

According to Mefor, the Soludo administration is determined to build a society founded on strong moral values and a youth population focused on productivity and development.

“The governor is investing heavily in infrastructure, but we must also invest in the character and mindset of the people who will inherit and sustain these developments,” he said.

He revealed that the ministry would soon launch an aggressive ethical and moral rebirth campaign designed to redirect young people toward positive values and responsible living.

As part of the initiative, Mefor disclosed plans to establish an “Anambra Change Brigade” in secondary schools to serve as ambassadors of positive change across the state.

Appeal for partnership

He appealed to Fidelity Bank and other financial institutions to partner with the government through sponsorship, branding support, and other forms of collaboration.

“We want leading banks like Fidelity to support this vision. Such partnerships will also provide visibility and recognition for participating organisations,” he added.

Responding on behalf of the bank, Regional Bank Head, Ugochukwu Anwusi, assured the commissioner of Fidelity Bank’s readiness to support the programme, particularly initiatives focused on secondary school students.

Anwusi, who visited alongside Chinenye Ekpe and Chigozie Adiele, described Dr. Mefor as a key figure in the Soludo administration and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to initiatives that promote societal development and youth empowerment.
