Anambra state Police Command has rescued an unconscious male pedestrian beside Dozzy Filling Station along the Onitsha/Owerri Road, Okpoko in Ogbaru local government area of the state.
Spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the yet-to-be-identified victim was rescued by Operatives attached to Okpoko Division, while on routine foot patrol.
He said the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
“The Anambra State Police Command has continued to demonstrate its commitment to protecting lives and showing compassion to members of the public.
“The Command is concerned about the condition of the victim and urges the public who may have useful information regarding his identity, family or residence to report to the Okpoko Police Division or contact the Command for necessary action,” he added.
Ikenga further revealed the payment of second-term school fees for five outstanding pupils who distinguished themselves academically in their respective classes.
He said the fees payment was in fulfilment of promise made by the Command during the activities marking the National Police Day celebration.
According to Ikenga,, the gesture is aimed at encouraging excellence, supporting education and promoting nation-building in the State.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu noted that the Police remains committed not only to maintaining law and order, but also to supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of Ndi Anambra, especially the younger generation.
“The Command therefore reassures residents of its resolve to continue to combine effective policing with people-oriented programmes that foster trust, compassion, and community development.
