Farmers under the All Farmers Group in Niger State have purchased and presented expression of interest and nomination forms to Mohammed Umaru Bago, urging him to seek re-election in the 2027 gubernatorial race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The forms were formally handed over to the governor at the Government House in Minna by a representative of the group, Muhammad Manko Abubakar.
He said the move was in recognition of the governor’s contributions to farmers and the agricultural sector in the state.
Abubakar added that over 2.7 million farmers across Niger State remain committed to supporting and re-electing the governor in the next general election.
In his response, Governor Bago expressed appreciation for the gesture and the continued backing from the farming community.
While acknowledging existing challenges affecting agricultural activities, he pledged sustained support to improve the sector.
As part of the event, the farmers’ group also conferred on him the traditional title of “Gatan Manoman Niger State.”
