Mr. Peter Obi, presidential hopeful of the Labour Party, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful amid prevailing economic and social challenges, drawing parallels between the nation’s situation and the Christian journey from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.

Obi, in a message posted on his X handle on Sunday, acknowledged the economic hardship facing many families but called for perseverance, noting that present difficulties were temporary.

He said the country’s struggles should be seen as a “cross” that must be borne before achieving political and economic rebirth.

The former Anambra governor attributed Nigeria’s challenges to poor leadership.

He described the situation as a period of intense suffering symbolised by the crucifixion, but expressed optimism about national renewal.

According to him, a “New Nigeria” is achievable through resilience and improved governance.

Obi adding that just as resurrection followed crucifixion, the country would experience its “Alleluia moment,” projecting hope towards 2027.
