Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has called on the 18 newly inaugurated commissioners to run their respective ministries with high level of prudence and synergy.
He described their appointments as strictly a call to rigorous work, sacrifice, and public accountability rather than personal celebration.
Speaking shortly after their official sworn-in at the Executive Council Chambers Light House, Awka, Soludo charged the commissioners to immediately focus on the task of governance.
He reminded them that their decisions would directly impact lives of over 9 million residents of the State.
The commissioners include Ben Odoemena (Agriculture); Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning); Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism); and Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education).
Others were Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment); Dr. Afam Obidike (Health); Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation); Professor Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Lands); and Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).
Also sworn-in were Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources); Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development); Engr. Casmir Agummadu (Power); Engr. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure); Eddy Ibuzo (Transport).
Other commissioners
Others were Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development); Patrick Agha, MBA (Youth Development and Sports); Arc. Henry Arinze (Commissioner for Housing) and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commissioner for Commerce).
Also inaugurated were Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Agency, ARTMA, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Dr. Ossy Onuko, MD, Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr Fred Agbata, as well as Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Engr. Obi Okonkwo.
Recall that Barr Tochukwu Nweke, SAN, had earlier been sworn in as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice while Izuchukwu Okafor was sworn-in as the Finance Commissioner, bringing the total number of commissioners to 20.
The swearing-in ceremony follows the recent screening and formal confirmation of the nominees by the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Reconstitution of the State Executive Council signals the formal rollout of “Team Solution 2.0,” coming weeks after Governor Soludo dissolved his previous cabinet shortly after his second-term inauguration.
