Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on citizens to work together for the peace and prosperity of the state.
He also called on them to draw inspiration from the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ as well as core teachings of Easter, includes love, sacrifice, and renewal.
Governor Adeleke made the call during an Easter service at All Souls Anglican Church, Osogbo, the state capital.
He tasked leaders to emulate Jesus Christ who resurrection gives humanity a new beginning, by serving with compassion, humility, and integrity.
Governor Adeleke emphasized the symbolic relevance of Easter as a period of reflection and rededication to the service of humanity.
“Our administration has made significant progress in the health, education, infrastructure sectors and youth empowerment within a short period, reaffirming our pledge to fulfill all campaign promises.
He appealed to the church to sustain prayers for his administration for wisdom to keep the state peaceful and prosperous.
“I urge our religious leaders to continue to pray for the state and the nation.
“The moral and spiritual directions you give remains invaluable in shaping a better society,” the Governor noted.
Earlier, the Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Osun, Right Reverend Foluso Babatunji, commended Governor Adeleke for people-oriented leadership and delivery of democratic dividends across sectors.
In his sermon, the Bishop called on others to emulate the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, workers’ welfare, and healthcare improvement.
However, he admonished the Governor not to rest on his oars, assuring him of continued prayers and support.
Bishop Babatunji charged political leaders to emulate Governor Adeleke who has been putting the people first and governing with the fear of God.
He noted that the times demand transparency, compassion, and courage in leadership.
