Anambra State Prophet, Dr Ramas Okoye-Asuzu has predicted the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He said the prophecy followed what he described as extensive consultations with oracles, ancestors and spiritual authorities across Nigeria’s major ethnic groups.
Addressing newsmen at his country home in Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of the state, Okoye-Asuzu, the Supreme Head of the Liberation Temple of Absolute God, insisted that nothing would stop Tinubu from securing second term in office.
The prophet, who predicted late President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory over then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election, said his present declaration was neither politically motivated nor influenced by financial inducement.
He also recalled that he had initially supported the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, but said subsequent spiritual revelations indicated that Tinubu would ultimately prevail.
“I respect Peter Obi and his credentials, but the oracle revealed clearly that Bola Ahmed Tinubu would emerge and must be allowed to complete his tenure.
I fear no man
“As a prophet, I fear no man. I speak only what the oracle has revealed. I have not received a kobo from anyone,” he said.
Okoye-Asuzu, the spiritual verdict however did not foreclose the emergence of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in the future.
He identified Obi and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, as prominent Igbo figures with the capacity and national appeal to lead the country.
The prophet praised Tinubu for what he described as early signs of commitment to inclusive governance.
He cited establishment of the South-East Development Commission as a major step towards addressing infrastructural deficits and long-standing grievances in the region.
Okoye-Asuzu said sustained attention to such initiatives could strengthen national unity and rebuild confidence in the federal government among residents of the South-East.
He however urged the president to intensify efforts to ease the hardship faced by Nigerians, particularly in the areas of poverty alleviation, job creation and economic stability.
Obi-Soludo political rift
He also called for a tougher stance on corruption, advocating life imprisonment for individuals convicted of large-scale graft as a deterrent to public fund looters.
On the reported political tension between Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and Mr Obi, the prophet dismissed the issue as a clash of strong personalities rather than a deep-seated conflict.
Using a local metaphor, he said, “Two strong male dogs cannot be put in the same pen without expecting brawls.
He described both men as “first-class brains” whose influence and intellect naturally generate rivalry.
The prophet praised Governor Soludo for what he termed significant improvements in security and governance in Anambra State, noting that the large turnout of residents during the last Christmas season was evidence of improved safety.
While commending the state government’s security efforts, he cautioned against masked operations by members of the Agụnaechemba security outfit, warning that anonymity could be exploited for abuse.
Okoye-Asuzu called for unity among political leaders across party lines, urging them to place national interest above personal ambition.
He appealed to Nigerians to remain hopeful and prayerful, expressing confidence that the country would eventually overcome its current challenges.
