AFCON 2025: Nigerians commend Chelle as Super Eagles secure bronze

Nigerians have commended Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, for his calm leadership and tactical discipline following the team’s impressive outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Nigeria won the bronze medal.

Under Chelle’s guidance, the Super Eagles remained unbeaten in regulation time throughout the tournament, recording five wins and two draws in seven matches.

Nigeria defeated Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Mozambique and Algeria, while drawing against Morocco and Egypt, progressing via penalty shootouts in both encounters.

The team scored 14 goals and conceded only four, reflecting a well-organised defence and effective attacking play.

Observers described Chelle’s approach as composed and tactically clear, qualities many say contributed to the team’s consistency on the continental stage.

The bronze medal finish has been widely celebrated by fans and football stakeholders, who praised the players and technical crew for their resilience and discipline.

They expressed optimism for the future of Nigerian football under the current coaching setup.
