Ambassador pledges knowledge-driven leadership

Chairman of Umuezeanya Youth Association, Ambassador Olisemeka Obeche has pledged to lead youths in the village and community into a new era of knowledge-driven, intellectual and human capacity development.

Obeche who made the pledge in his maiden address after the swearing-in and handover ceremony expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him.

He also extended sincere gratitude to the outgoing executive committee, led by Chief Engr. Samuel Udefi for their exceptional service and dedication.

He presented a visionary roadmap aimed at fostering collective growth and empowerment within the community.

“The strong foundation established by the previous administration would serve as a launching pad for future initiatives, underscoring the vital role of community involvement,” he added.

The newly elected Chairman highlighted the necessity of adapting to an evolving global landscape, articulating his ambitious vision of transforming the Umuezeanya Youth Association into a collaborative and knowledge-driven hub.

Proactive agenda

“To thrive in this age of technology and globalization, we must evolve a proactive agenda grounded in human capital development and core values such as integrity, accountability, and inclusion,” he said.

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, Obeche affirmed that unity would be the cornerstone of his administration.

“We will break down barriers,” he said, inviting members to participate in specialized committees aimed at leveraging diverse talents.

Additionally, he outlined plans to cultivate partnerships with neighboring youth associations and external organizations for community projects, reinforcing the understanding that progress is inherently interconnected.

Obeche encouraged the youth of Umuezeanya to engage actively rather than passively.

“This vision is ambitious, but achievable,” he urged, calling upon each member to dedicate their time, resources, and talents toward creating a brighter future.

He concluded with an inspiring message of resilience and hope, proclaiming, “let us move forward together, with unity of purpose and the unwavering spirit of Umuezeanya.”

The ceremony was the highpoint of the association’s 10th Anniversary and Award/Gala Night held at the Umuoba Anam Townhall, Otuocha, Anambra East Local Government Area of the State.

Other key officers sworn in included Daniel Onukwuo (Vice Chairman), Osita Nneke (General Secretary), Odikpo Nwachukwu (Financial Secretary), Victor Anikpeh (Treasurer), Augustine Okafor (PRO I), Ignatius Obadiegwu (PRO II), Amechi Nneke (Provost) and Chukwunwike Okeke (Director of Socials).
