Momentum is building as South Africa prepares to host the Global Fund’s 8th Replenishment Summit on Friday, 21 November 2025.
A Media Advisory released by the Global Health Strategies (GHS) says the event will be hosted by His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, and The Right Honourable Sir Keir Starmer MP, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The Summit will take place online and in person, in Johannesburg, South Africa, alongside the G20 Leaders Summit.
Co-hosted by South Africa and the United Kingdom, in partnership with the Global Fund, the Summit represents a critical opportunity to mobilise global donor support to end HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), and malaria.
Global Fund is the world’s largest financier of programs on preventing, treating and caring for people affected by these diseases.
It plays a central role in driving global health impact in countries across the world.
This year’s Summit will galvanise bold commitments, accelerate action and strengthen partnerships across regions and sectors.
South Africa and the UK, as co-hosts, are championing the core values that define the Global Fund’s partnership model.
This includes: solidarity, sustainability, innovation, equity and reform.
Governments, civil society, multilateral and bilateral organisations, and private sector leaders will gather to secure investments for expanding life-saving programs.
Discussions will also focus on advancing resilient and sustainable health systems that protect communities and drive long-term progress.
