Big win as Soludo secures second term as Anambra Governor

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has been re-elected as Governor of Anambra State, after securing victory in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, declared Soludo winner of the 2025 governorship poll on Sunday in Awka.

Governor Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), polled 422,664 votes, defeating Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 99,445 votes.

Other results announced include: Accord Party (224), Action Alliance (1,145), African Action Congress (AAC) (292), Allied Peoples Movement (892), Action Peoples Party (73) and Boot Party (126).

Labour Party scored 10,576, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) (525), National Rescue Movement (36), Peoples Democratic Party (1,401), Social Democratic Party (241), Young Progressives Party (37,753) and Zenith Labour Party (453).

According to INEC, valid votes in the election totalled 584,054, while 11,244 votes were rejected. Total votes cast stood at 595,298.

Declaring the result, Prof. Omoregie said Governor Soludo “met all the constitutional requirements” and is returned elected as Governor of Anambra State.
