Addressing journalists at the event, the younger brother to the benefactor, Eugene Uchedife said his brother started the philanthropic gestures over a decade ago, without making a noise about it.
He said that his brother who was not physically present at the event always displayed strong desire to help the people of his immediate community and other Nnewi indigenes at large.
“Evangelist Chukwukeme is my immediate elder brother. He is not doing this because he is the richest in our community but because of the passion he has to help those in need.
Concern for less-privileged
“He always says that it gives him concern when he remembers that some people could not afford three square meals or attend to their other needs.
“My brother said this had been the basis for him to render help as it pleases God. He promised that he would not relent doing that to the extent he could.
“My prayer is that God will continue to bless him abundantly to continue the good work which is the work of God.

“He does not limit his help to Umudimkwa or Nnewi people, he does same even outside Nigeria. We are proud of him, “he said.
Umudimkwa youths who came out in their numbers showed excitement to what Chukwukeme is doing in the community to uplift those in need.
They described him as a great son of the land.
Chairman of the Umudimkwa youths, Oluchukwu Olebunne said the youths were proud of Chukwukeme who he said has always remembered home from overseas.
He urged other young ones who have not joined the youths to do so without hesitation.
Olebunne also assured that the five youths who benefited from the cash empowerment would use it judiciously.
All the beneficiaries of the financial empowerment were all excited and prayed for more blessings on their benefactor.
