Mrs Soludo pays medical bills for 200 patients as she turns 55

Wife of Anambra Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged well-meaning individuals in the society to always support the vulnerable people around them.

Soludo, Founder of Healthy Living initiative, made the appeal while visiting hospitals in the state, where she payed medical bills for 200 patients.

The gesture was part of activities marking her 55th birthday celebration.

The beneficiaries were selected from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka.

Other beneficiaries Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi and the General Hospital, Okpoko.

She engaged warmly with the patients, offering prayers and providing discreet financial assistance.

Soludo said she believes that true leadership is rooted in making positive impact and showing compassion for others.

She said she has a long-standing tradition of celebrating her birthdays by visiting hospitals.

She also visits homes for the less privileged rather than hosting parties.

“I encouraged well-meaning individuals to take time to bring joy to the vulnerable in society, no matter how small the effort.”

“Making someone smile does not cost much, sometimes, all it takes is your presence.

“Even helping an elderly woman find a place to sleep is an act of love.

“Each year, I spend my birthday with the sick, the motherless and the vulnerable. I just wanted to touch lives in whatever way I could.

“It is my way of reflecting on the true meaning of human existenc.

“It’s about showing love, giving hope, and putting smiles on people’s faces.

“Bringing happiness to others is my greatest source of joy. That is all I need to feel fulfilled,” she said.

Soludo appreciated the health workers at the hospitals for their dedication and commended the cleanliness of the facilities.

The beneficiaries thanked the Governor’s Wife and offered prayers for her.
