Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has assured residents that the multi-targeted approach and collaboration between the Corps and other security agencies has designed and emplaced a water tight security architecture that would soon start yielding positive results.
Commandant Maku Olatunde stated this during the Command’s Assessment Tactical Deravatives and Security Deliverables Digest held at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.
He assured that security agencies were working tirelessly to bring about positive changes, calling on citizens not to allow fear and panic to affect them.
Olatunde emphasized the need for a fresh approach, suggesting that revisiting and re-strategizing would be essential in tackling the state’s security challenges.
He said, “I expect you to excel in your duties by dedicating yourselves to upholding peace and order, aligning with the Commandant General’s directive to fulfill our core mandates.
“From now on, I will hold all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations and Composite Commanders accountable for maintaining peace and security within their jurisdictions.
Consequences for any attack
He further warned, “Any failure to prevent breaches of peace or attacks on critical national assets will have consequences.
He said the organization will not hesitate to remove those who are unwilling to support this vision.
“NSCDC is a lead agency in the protection of Critical National, State and Local Government Assets and Infrastructure.
While calling on personnel to protect national assets jealousy, Olatunde charged area commander and divisional officers to ensure strict supervision of operations under their purview.
The Commandant reminded them that residents were putting their hope on NSCDC and sister security agencies to bring about lasting solution to insecurity.
“The public must not be disappointed, hence, the need for continuous review of modalities to confront the menace,” NSCDC boss warned.
