Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in the House of Representatives, Afam Victor Ogene, has emerged as consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election in Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anambra State.

The decision was reached at the party’s National Assembly primary election held in Atani, headquarters of Ogbaru LGA, on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Ogene, who is seeking re-election, thanked party supporters for choosing him based on his quality representation, integrity in service, and servant-leadership that have endeared him to constituents.

The lawmaker urged them to begin door-to-door sensitization and mobilization of voters in their respective neighborhoods across Ogbaru Federal Constituency ahead of next year’s House of Representatives election.

“This will help the NDC secure a comprehensive victory in the 2027 general elections — including the presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly elections,” he added.

Expressing appreciation for their love and confidence in him, the lawmaker assured the supporters that he would not let them down, as he remained committed to prioritizing the interests of the Ogbaru people.
