The Traditional ruler of Obosi kingdom, His Majesty, Igwe Chidubem Iweka has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate certificate of Doctor of Divinity and Exceptional Leadership Award of Recognition.
The conferment was done by Bethany Bible Seminary, BBS, a member of United States Department of Higher Education.
Issuing the certificates to the monarch, President/Chancellor of BBS, Bishop Prof. Miracle Fidelis said Obosi indigenes in the diaspora, particularly those in United States of America are highly impressed with the Igwe’s performances since he ascended the throne.
Accompanied by Dr. Sunday Iwenofu, BBS Nigerian National Coordinator, Fidelis made a particular reference to the crowning of a chieftaincy title on President Bola Tinubu by the royal father as Chairman of Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers, during Tinubu’s state visit to Anambra state.
“As an indigene of Obosi Ukwalla kingdom, when I sat in the comfort of my home at New Jersey, USA and watched Igwe crowning Tinubu with a chieftaincy title on behalf of the Anambra state council of traditional rulers, I felt proud and highly elated that my own Igwe has become a prominent figure not only in Anambra state or Southeast but in Nigeria as a whole.
Shaping reformers
“BBS is not only merely issuing certificates to graduands.
“We are also shaping reformers, training ethical leaders and equipping kingdom professionals for the church, society, governance and global influence.
Fidelis further disclosed that BBS is registered, accredited and affiliated to consolidation of ministries and theological education accreditation Commission (Nigeria), United Christian Bible Education Accreditation Commission (USA and UK), among other global Christian Bible institutions.
Responding, Igwe Iweka commended BBS for finding him worthy of the award.
He assured the group that he would continue to do his best to make the people proud while holding sway both as Eze Obosi and Chairman of Anambra state council of traditional rulers.
Speaking separately, President-General of Obosi Development Union (ODU) Worldwide, Chimezie Obi and President of Obosi Urban, Chief Emeka Asimonye praised both the benefactor for honoring the monarch and the awardee for carving a niche for himself that attracted the attention of the foreign institution.
