The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the list of the most sought-after tertiary institutions by candidates in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja during a policy meeting on admissions into tertiary institutions.
According to him, Lagos State University topped the list with 70,080 applications from candidates seeking admission into the institution.
He said University of Lagos followed with 58,645 applications, while University of Ilorin recorded 56,758 applications.
The registrar said Federal University Oye-Ekiti attracted 52,108 applications, while Nnamdi Azikiwe University had 51,487 applicants.
Others on the list include University of Ibadan with 47,571 applications, University of Nigeria, Nsukka with 46,273, and University of Benin with 45,868 applications.
Also listed were Obafemi Awolowo University with 45,777 applications and Federal University, Lafia with 42,962 applications.
