FG vows to clear remaining N35,000 wage arrears for civil servants

President Tinubu

The Federal Government has pledged to clear the remaining three months of N35,000 wage award arrears owed to civil servants without further delay.

This was confirmed in a statement by Mr. Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Mokwa confirmed that the second tranche of the arrears was paid on Thursday, Aug.7.

Only one of the initial five months had been paid previously, leaving three months outstanding.

Mokwa assured that the government remains committed to fulfilling its promise and will continue monthly payments until the arrears are fully cleared.

The announcement follows complaints from civil servants in Abuja over delayed payments.

Some urged the government to settle the entire balance at once, citing growing frustration and financial strain.
