Anambra Civil Society applauds Soludo’s commissioner nominees, urges results-driven governance

The Anambra Civil Society Network (ACSONet) has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on the submission of the first batch of commissioner nominees to the Anambra State House of Assembly.

ACSONet described the move as a thoughtful step toward strengthening governance in the state.

In a statement signed by Prince Chris Azor, Chairman of ACSONet and Non-State Actors’ Co-Chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), the group also extended its congratulations to the nominees

It noted that their selection reflects a careful and deliberate process. According to ACSONet, the nominees’ experience, professionalism, and proven track records demonstrate the governor’s commitment to assembling a capable team.

The network particularly welcomed the reappointment of Dr. Afam Obidike as Commissioner for Health and Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) for Lands, citing their past performance, dedication, and consistency in their respective roles.

It described the decision to retain them as a practical move that ensures continuity in critical sectors.

ACSONet also commended the inclusion of Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, stating that her appointment reflects compassion and recognition of loyalty, especially following the personal loss she endured.

The group noted that such gestures highlight the human side of leadership.

Governance with responsibility

The civil society body reminded the appointees of the responsibility that comes with public office.

It emphasized the need for focus, diligence, and tangible results that will positively impact the lives of Ndi Anambra.

The group stressed the importance of swift action as the administration moves forward, urging the government to address current economic challenges and prioritize the needs of vulnerable citizens.

ACSONet reaffirmed its commitment to supporting transparent, accountable, and people-oriented governance in Anambra State.

It equally pledged continued engagement to promote civic participation and sustainable development.
