FRSC tasks Special Marshals on road auditing, research in Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra state has urged Special Marshals to assist the Command in carrying out road auditing and researches into causes of road traffic crashes in the state.

Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno made the call during the 2026 Anambra state Special Marshals Inauguration.

Asekhauno said the auditing and researches would assist the Command in mitigating crashes in the state.

She described the Special Marshals as critical partner of the corps, saying their visible contributions had further boosted activities of the corps especially in area of traffic control, clearing obstruction, rescue operations and public enlightenment, particularly in schools.

She said, “Special Marshals who are second in the three tiers of FRSC have all the powers of FRSC regular Marshals, except that they don’t wear uniforms and are not paid.

“They have been voluntarily contributing their quota, including their time and resources in assisting the FRSC operations which is a collective responsibility.

“They’re currently building a very beautiful clinic for us at Nteje which is nearing completion.”

Privileged ones

Congratulating the new intakes, the Sector Commander said it was a privilege for them to be part of the Corps.

She urged them to ensure their training reflected on their duties.

“The Special Marshals are men and women of proven integrity, who are tested and trusted. Most of them are from the private sectors, businessmen and artisans. They were certified for engagement after rigorous training,” she added.

Earlier, State Coordinator, Michael Ogbusa described the occasion further strengthens road safety and traffic management in the state.

He described their willingness to volunteer their time and energy to serve their community as truly commendable.

“As you take on this role, you become key partners in ensuring safer roads and promoting responsible driving habits,” he added.
