No pressure will push me to APC – Gov Bala Mohammed vows

Bala Mohammed

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has firmly stated that no form of pressure will compel him to defect from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the declaration while reacting to the arrest and ongoing prosecution of the Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance, Yakubu Adamu, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering and terrorism-related offences.

Speaking at the Government House, Bauchi, after receiving ambassadorial awards of safety and management, Governor Mohammed expressed displeasure over what he described as attempts to drag his name into court proceedings, despite the constitutional immunity accorded to his office.

He described the development as unfair and politically motivated, stressing that it was wrong to associate his administration with allegations he said were baseless and designed to intimidate or exert political pressure on him.

The governor maintained that his government has remained committed to delivering development projects and improving security across the state, adding that such achievements should not be overshadowed by what he termed deliberate distractions.

Governor Mohammed reaffirmed that his attention remains on governance and service delivery, assuring the people of Bauchi State that his administration will continue to pursue peace, development and stability, regardless of ongoing political challenges.
