Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has vowed to eliminate and flush out quacks and unlicensed security operators in Anambra state.

It also pledged to step up its regulatory supervision as the only Federal Government approved regulatory body over private security guard companies in the state.

State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, made the pledge while playing host to Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) Anambra State Chapter.

He emphasized the need for private security companies to operate professionally.

Olatunde urged them to update their records and build cordial relationships with the NSCDC and other conventional security agencies.

“We’ll enhance activities of private security guard companies in the State to conform with the laid-down procedures guiding the operations of PGCs in the country.

“We urge you to work closely with us to eliminate and flush out quacks and unlicensed security operators in the state.

“You’re also encouraged to gather and share credible intelligence information within your areas of responsibility with us,” he added.

ALPSPN boss, Dr. Okon Antai, reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to collaborating with the NSCDC to stamp out unlicensed security operators and enforce regulatory standards.

“The partnership will likely enhance the state’s security landscape by exclusively allowing licensed professionals to operate.

“It will also protect members of the public and foster a safer environment for end – users/clients.

“That will be achieved through effective regulation and enforcement against illegitimate security providers,” Antai added.
