Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, says there is a consensus by community leaders, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stakeholders and youths, for him to run for a second term.
Soludo made the announcement on Thursday in Awka, at an event organised by 60 support groups under the auspices of All Soludo Support Groups (ASSG), ahead of APGA primaries on April 5.
He said: “There is a consensus by leaders of communities, APGA Stakeholders, the youth, people from the streets, among others for for me to come back and run for a second term.
“This is because of the visible developments and achievements under our administration. And we will continue to work to achieve the Anambra of our dream.
“I appreciate you all and I promise to sustain the vision of ‘One state, one people, one Agenda’. One indivisible Anambra state.
“You are asking me to contest, Saturday is APGA primaries, I appeal that you pray for me,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the support groups, Mr Chinedu Nwoye expressed their readiness to collaborate with the governor, emphasizing that the support is organic and for the greater good of the state.Nwoye said the groups raised the sum of N30 million to rally support for Gov. Soludo’s second term bid.
“Men, women and youths donated what they have for us to raise the sum of N30 million. And we are presenting the cheque to you to support and encourage you to go for second term.
“Mr Governor, we have already seen the promise land and you can not leave us at this level, we plead you take us there,” Nwoye said.
