The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is accelerating its modernisation efforts to enhance service delivery and remain competitive in the postal and logistics sector.
NIPOST Governing Board Chairman, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke, made the assertion during a meeting with management staff in Abuja.
Kekemeke emphasised the need to abandon outdated practices and adopt digital technologies to build a dynamic, future-ready organisation.
He highlighted NIPOST’s nationwide presence as a strategic asset, which, if modernised, could stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and attract investments.
“NIPOST has great potential and needs to be stimulated for growth, promote globalisation, and facilitate the rise of e-commerce in Nigeria.
“Through meaningful innovations, NIPOST can expand its operations and compete globally,”he stated.
Postmaster-General, Ms. Tola Odeyemi, reinforced the importance of technology in improving operational efficiency and aligning services with global standards.
She noted that NIPOST’s investment in digital tools has improved.
According to her, it improved parcel tracking, reduced losses and delays and supported financial inclusion and e-governance initiatives.
Both leaders stressed that innovation, partnerships, and a commitment to transformation are key to NIPOST’s long-term relevance and impact.
