Stock Market extends rally, gains N240bn

The Nigerian stock market continued its bullish run for a fifth session on Thursday.

It added N240 billion in value as market capitalisation rose to N68.652 trillion. 

The All-Share Index also advanced by 0.35% to close at 109,231.96, driven by investor interest in medium- and large-cap stocks.

A total of 38 stocks gained while 21 declined.

 Beta Glass and Chellaram led the gainers, each rising 10%, while Abbey Mortgage Bank topped the losers with a 10% drop.

Trading volume stood at 554.07 million shares worth N14.35 billion in 16,704 deals.

This is down from the previous day’s 587.47 million shares worth N18.66 billion.

Fidelity Bank led trading with 69.76 million shares, followed by Access Corporation, Tantalizer, GTCO, and FBN Holdings.
