For many people, turning fifty is more than a birthday; it is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and celebration of lives touched over the years. That was the atmosphere as family, friends, church members, associates, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate Engr. Enosa Ununu on the occasion of his golden jubilee.
But beyond the music, laughter, and tributes was the story of a man whose life journey embodies resilience, faith, humility, and impact.
Born in Ekpon, Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State, Engr. Ununu’s path to success began with humble beginnings. In 2000, he arrived in Anambra State as a pre-science student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, where he later studied Physics Electronics for five years. Coming from a modest civil servant home, survival demanded creativity and determination.
Even before university, he had developed a passion for electronics. “I was repairing rechargeable lanterns, handled technical equipment for church evangelism programs, and gradually built practical knowledge that would later define my career.”
Life in Awka was not easy. While studying, he noticed that faulty CCTV and CRT monitors in many business centres and cafés were routinely sent to Lagos for repairs because there were no local engineers capable of fixing them.
“Convinced that my background in electronics could provide solutions, I approached some café operators for an opportunity. They handed him three faulty monitors. I successfully repaired one.”
That single breakthrough became the foundation of a journey that would span more than two decades. From a small one-room apartment in Okpuno, he repaired monitors at night and attended lectures during the day. Slowly, his reputation grew. What started as survival became a thriving profession and eventually a platform through which many other young people found direction and purpose.
Builder of lives
As tributes poured in during the celebration, one recurring theme stood out: Engr. Nosa Ununu is not just respected for his professional success, but for the lives he has quietly transformed.
His pastor, Reverend Emmanuel Okoroafor of New Heritage Baptist Church described him as a man whose simplicity hides extraordinary strength and integrity.
“Engr. Nosa is honest, hardworking, loyal, and sincere,” the cleric said. “He may appear quiet, but he has the heart of a lion.”
According to the reverend, the celebrant has consistently demonstrated faithfulness and accountability in the service of God, particularly as a member of the church Executive Council.

“More importantly, Engr. Ununu never allows challenges to define him and is always willing to use his resources to support others.”
Indeed, many of those present testified that one of his greatest qualities is his willingness to lift people.
Among the most emotional moments of the celebration were the testimonies of two men who once worked under him — Michael Williams and Umeh Benedict.
For Umeh Benedict, meeting Engr. Ununu completely changed the direction of his life.
He recalled arriving in Awka as a young village boy with little exposure and uncertain prospects. Through Nostek Computers Technology, Engr. Ununu not only trained him but also gave him the confidence to build a career and eventually establish himself independently.
According to Umeh, beyond technical skills, his mentor taught him discipline, honesty, and devotion to God.
“One thing that amazed me was his commitment to church,” he said. “No matter the workload, once it was time for service, he was ready.”
“My boss is satisfied with the little he was getting and would not be dragged int contracts where they ask you to inflate figures. Yet, he continues to prosper through integrity and hard work.”
The Williams’ testimony
Michael Williams shared a similarly touching experience. After secondary school, Williams travelled to Lagos hoping to find greener pastures, but things became difficult.
“Engr. Ununu encouraged me to relocate to Awka and gave me an opportunity to learn computer engineering.
“Over time, I became established and even attempted travelling abroad. However, after the plans failed and my savings disappeared, I returned discouraged and uncertain of what the future held.”
What happened next remained unforgettable to him. “Instead of rejection, my boss welcomed me back warmly and gave me another opportunity to restart life and career.”

Today, Williams credits that second chance for helping him rebuild his life, raise a family, and regain stability.
Beyond mentoring young people, family members also described the celebrant as a devoted husband and loving father.
His wife, Mrs. Queen Ufoma Ununu, spoke warmly about his calm personality, caring nature, and commitment to family responsibilities.
According to her, despite his demanding schedule, he always prioritizes the wellbeing of his family and remains deeply committed to God.
She described his 50th birthday as evidence of God’s mercy and faithfulness and prayed for continued strength, health, and blessings upon his life.
Disciplined but loving daddy
Their first son, Treasure Ehiose Ununu, speaking on behalf of his siblings fondly known as “The Three Wise Men,” painted the picture of a disciplined but affectionate father.
“He leads us in devotion every morning,” he said. “He is strict when necessary, but he is loving and always wants the best for everyone around him.”
Another recurring quality highlighted during the celebration was generosity.
Pastor Emma Nwoye described Engr. Ununu as a quiet giver who supports people without seeking recognition.
According to him, even while building his own house and managing business responsibilities, the celebrant remained committed to supporting humanitarian causes and church projects whenever the need arose.

“He helps people quietly,” the pastor noted. “That humility is one of the reasons people genuinely love him.”
Yet perhaps the most powerful testimony came from Engr. Ununu himself.
Reflecting on his journey at 50, he acknowledged that life had not always been smooth. He spoke about surviving several near-death experiences and difficult seasons that could have ended his dreams prematurely.
Still, through every challenge, his faith remained firm.
Looking back at the young man who once repaired lanterns and monitors from a tiny room in Okpuno, he expressed gratitude to God for preservation, growth, and purpose.
His message to young people was simple but profound: discover your talent, remain consistent, and never despise humble beginnings.
Nurturing skills
“The little skill you nurture today,” he said, “can become the foundation of your success tomorrow.”
At fifty, Engr. Enosa Ununu’s story is more than the story of a successful engineer or businessman. It is the story of resilience, faith, mentorship, and service. It is the story of a man who rose from humble beginnings to become a pillar for many people.
As the celebration drew to a close, one truth echoed through every testimony shared that day: Engr. Nosa Ununu’s greatest achievement is not merely the business he built, but the many lives he helped build along the way.
And for everyone gathered to celebrate him, that legacy is worth far more than gold.
