The Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, has called for a shift toward servant leadership at Nigeria’s highest levels of government, saying it is critical to reviving the nation’s economy and restoring public confidence.

Speaking with journalists at his parish office, the cleric popularly known as Ebube Muonso, described Nigeria’s leadership structure as operating under a “horrible paradigm” driven by poor governance from the top.

Rev Fr Obimma also serves as Parish Priest of Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church in Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA.

He stressed the need for a fundamental political reset, noting that meaningful national progress depends on leaders of strong character capable of influencing systemic change from the presidency downward.

According to him, Nigeria’s economic strength hinges on the quality of leadership, adding that only credible and capable individuals can deliver the transformation the country seeks.

On security in Anambra State, Fr. Obimma acknowledged improvements and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for proactive measures, particularly the establishment of the “Udo ga achi” security outfit.

He revealed that he personally invested heavily in security and urged sustained efforts to further stabilize the state and the country at large.

Addressing spiritual matters, the cleric strongly condemned the growing trend of staged or fabricated miracles among some religious leaders.

He warned that such practices undermine genuine spirituality and mislead the faithful.

Emphasizing that God alone is the source of miracles, he encouraged ministers to embrace sincerity, sacrifice, and truth in their calling.

Importance of prayer

Fr. Obimma highlighted the importance of prayer and divine intervention, noting that his ministry is currently engaged in a 90-day prayer programme, with plans for a 30-day fasting period in July.

He underscored that spiritual authority cannot be manufactured and called for repentance rather than punishment for erring clerics.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists honoured him with a Distinguished Charismatic Cleric Award during a Father’s Day Mass.

The association’s chairperson, Tochukwu Ifejika, praised his humanitarian efforts, humility, and commitment to service.

In his response, Fr. Obimma expressed gratitude for the recognition and urged journalists to remain objective and responsible in their duty to inform the public.

Delivering a sermon titled “Rejected for Promotion,” he outlined wisdom, provision, and compassion as the core pillars of fatherhood.

He also advised families to uphold patience, discipline, and faith, stressing that strong moral values and reliance on God remain essential for both personal and societal growth.
