Members of Chukwudubem Age grade, Obosi have protested alleged injustice against democracy and rule of law orchestrated by the Council of age grades President, Mr Onyeka Molokwu.
The group said Molokwu connived with some of its members and averted the principles of democracy by imposing 6-man committee to pilot the affair of the organisation.
Protesting at the palace of Eze Iweka II,
Royal Majesty, Igwe Chudubem Iweka, the group urged the monarch to suspend Molokwu and his Secretary, Obidi Maduegbuna for acting against the interest of the rest of other council members.
According to Secretary of the electoral committee, Engr Obi Eneanya, majority of the members insisted on the general election conducted same day which produced Hon Ekene Adieme as President along other executive members.
“We’re calling on Royal Majesty, Igwe Chudubem Iweka to do the needful by suspending Onyeka Molokwu and his Secretary, Obidi Maduegbuna for acting against the interest of the rest of the other Council members, Chukwudubem Age Grade and the entire Obosi kingdom.
“Recall that since the inception of Molokwu’s leadership, about six age grades and still counting have been disintergrated as a result of his inadequacy.
“After the General election at Obosi town hall on Sunday, April 26, 2026 duly observed by President General, Obosi Development Union, Okwuolisa Supreme Council, Obosi and other relevant stakeholders, Hon. Kene Adieme emerged as new president of Chukwudubem Age Grade.
“Other executive members included: Hon. Ekene Adieme-President, Mr Nwobosi Nzube-Vice-president, Mrs Okonkwo Queen-Chairlady, Mrs Edochie Uzoamaka-Vice Chairlady, Mrs Amuche Adibe-Secretary and Mr Ebuzoeme Amaechi-Assistant Secretary.
“Also elected were Mrs Acho Ogochukwu-Financial Secretary, Engr Nwabunwanne udeogu-Treasurer, Mr Ozulonye Ajegbo-PRO-1, Mrs Nwando Animalu-PRO-2, Mr Munaonyedi Ifeanyi-Provost-1 and Mr Amala Ifeobu-Provost-2,” he disclosed.
