Renowned Nigerian human rights lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has been nominated for the Law Personality of the Year 2026 award.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 28 in Lagos State.
The honour will be conferred on him by the Organising Committee of the Eminent Man of the Year Awards & Fashion Show in recognition of his outstanding performance and contributions to legal practice.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ejiofor, the lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, described the honour as a recognition of his distinguished and unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the pursuit of justice in the country.
The statement reads, “It is with a heart profoundly filled with gratitude and quiet joy that I respectfully notify my friends, admirers, Ezigbo Umuchineke, colleagues at the Bar, and my esteemed supporters of yet another humbling and superlative recognition.
“I am pleased to announce that the Organising Committee of the Eminent Man of the Year Awards & Fashion Show 2026 has formally nominated me for the prestigious honour of Law Personality of the Year 2026.
Humbling and inspiring
Ejiofor described the nomination as both humbling and inspiring, serving as a renewed call to greater service and deeper commitment to the noble ideals that define the legal profession.
“June will soon be upon us, and preparations have already commenced. I therefore invite friends, associates, and well-wishers to begin getting ready, as all roads shall lead to Lagos on that special day for what promises to be a memorable and celebratory occasion.
“Indeed, it can only be the grace of God. Without your unwavering encouragement, goodwill, and steadfast support, this recognition would not have been possible.
“I remain profoundly grateful to you all for your continued support as we prepare to storm Lagos in grand style.
“We continue to move forward,” the statement concludes.
