Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has officially received donation of 10 vehicles from Chief Cletus Oragwa of Zenco Group.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to an “Open Society” powered by the Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) model.
He emphasized that the speed of development required for the state cannot be achieved through public capital alone.
“Public capital alone cannot be expected to accelerate development at the pace we desire.
“We must leverage private capital and the resilient spirit of our people to transform the state,” he added.
A major highlight of the Governor’s address was the remarkable turnaround of Ukpor.
Formerly a flashpoint for security challenges, Governor Soludo declared that Ukpor is now one of the safest communities in Anambra
He described the security milestone as a precursor to a major industrial shift.
The governor announced that the state is currently building a Kaolin Processing Plant in Ukpor, which is for commissioning soonest.
Rich in mineral resources
He noted that the plant signals to the world that Ukpor is notable for high-value mineral resources.
“The facility is expected to create jobs and position the community as a key player in the state’s industrial map.”
Soludo commended the “community spirit” of the people of Ukpor and other Ndi Anambra who share the “Think Home.” vision.
He praised those who are returning to invest in their local communities, noting that such partnerships would outlive his administration.
“I thank Ndi Anambra who are of the same spirit and are coming home to build the homeland. For this partnership, we say thank you,” Soludo added.
Speaking on behalf of Zenco at the event, Mr. Ikenna Mbazulike-Amechi thanked the Governor for his administration’s visible strides across various sectors.
He noted that the donation was a contribution to ensuring that the Governor’s vision for a “livable and prosperous” homeland remains on track.
Speaker of State House of Assembly, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ben Nwankwo, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr Joachin Anaeto, among others, were present at the ceremony.
