Soludo’s wife urges continued support for cancer survivors

Wife of Anambra state governor, Dr Nonye Soludo has called on residents to renew their commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging regular health screenings, and supporting those currently undergoing cancer treatment.

Soludo who made the call in commemoration of National Cancer Survivors Day said behind every survivor remained a story of strength, perseverance and unyielding will to live.

According to her, journey of cancer survivors is a powerful reminder that hope is stronger than fear, and that with timely diagnosis, quality care, support from loved ones, and determination, remarkable victories are possible.

She said, “Every first Sunday of June, we commemorate National Cancer Survivors Day to celebrate the courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit of individuals who have faced one of life’s toughest battles and emerged stronger.

“Every survivor’s journey is a powerful reminder that hope is stronger than fear, and that with timely diagnosis, quality care, support from loved ones, and determination, remarkable victories are possible. Behind every survivor is a story of strength, perseverance, and an unyielding will to live.

“As we honor cancer survivors today, let us also renew our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging regular health screenings, and supporting those currently undergoing treatment.

“Early detection saves lives, and a culture of preventive healthcare remains one of our strongest tools in the fight against cancer.

“To every survivor, we celebrate you. Your journey inspires hope, your strength inspires courage, and your story reminds us that every day is a gift worth embracing.”
