It was tears of joy and excitement at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state following safe delivery of quintuplets to the family of Dr and Mrs Chijioke Ogeh, Consultant Pediatrician and Deputy CMAC of the hospital.
The atmosphere of the facility suddenly transformed from routine hospital work to rapturous thanksgiving as the news reverberated through the wards.
After sixteen long years of waiting in for the fruit of the womb, God finally blessed the couple with five children at once – four boys and one girl.
While medical staff and patients described the delivery as extraordinary, others called it nothing short of divine.
For the Chief Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC of the hospital, the birth of the quintuplets was a record breaker for the facility.
According to him, it was the first time in the hospital’s history that a set of five babies was delivered successfully.
The visibly excited father, Ogeh who could not hold his joy, stood before colleagues, returning all thanks to God.
“After 16 long years of waiting in marriage, God blessed us with five children at once – four boys and one girl.
“God is indeed a miracle worker who keeps His word. What He cannot do does not exist,” he exclaimed in tears.
