The African Democratic Congress (ADC) will on Monday conduct its presidential primary election ahead of the general elections.
The party cleared former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen to participate in the contest.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday.
According to the statement, the party also cleared 513 aspirants to contest the House of Representatives primary elections nationwide, while 109 aspirants were approved for the Senate primaries.
Another 80 governorship aspirants also successfully scaled the screening process.
The ADC said the presidential primary election would hold on Monday, May 25, in line with the timetable approved by the party leadership.
During their appearance before the screening committee in Abuja, the three presidential aspirants unveiled manifestos centered on tackling insecurity, reviving the economy, and improving infrastructure across the country.
The aspirants also stressed the need for the party to produce a competent presidential candidate based on capacity and leadership ability rather than regional considerations.
