House of Assembly Aspirant for Anambra East Constituency, Mr Oguejiofor Chidebelu has promised to improve living conditions of young people and transform the constituency if elected.
Chidebelu who made the commitment in a chat with newsmen in Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State said his ambition to represent six communities of Aguleri, Umueri, Igbariam, Nando, Nsugbe and Umuoba Anam come 2027 was to upscale his service to impact the constituency.
He regretted that Umueri community has never produced State lawmaker in the constituency and called for necessary support to break the jinx.
He assured of his clear people oriented programmes anchored on youth engagement and empowerment in the areas of skill acquisition and agriculture.
“Looking at Anambra East Constituency, you will discover that we have a lot of teeming population who are basically youths. And then,you ask yourself, what are the programmes for these youths?
“I am inspired to go and sponsor bills that will be enablers for government to look into these areas in order to empower our youths.
Outlining his vision, Chidebelu, contesting the seat under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) promised to address key issues affecting the constituency including regular town hall meetings.
“I will bridge the communication gap between the elected and the people. It is the office of the people, not the other way round.I will call and engage the people.
“I am going to identify with the youth as energisers of the economy and security. I am going to look into agriculture which is what we are known for,” he added.
While assuring to render people oriented service, the lawmaker hopeful maintained that his election into the Assembly would give him opportunity to achieve that.
