Kwankwaso rebukes Nafiu Bala over missed meeting, seeks traditional, religious intervention

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has expressed disappointment over the absence of Nafiu Bala at a scheduled meeting, describing it as a missed opportunity to offer guidance and counsel.

Speaking in an interview with DCL Hausa, Kwankwaso revealed that he waited throughout the night into the early hours of the morning, expecting Bala to show up, but he never did.

“Yesterday, right up until dawn, I was waiting for Nafiu Bala, but he didn’t come. People told me he would not come. I wasn’t happy about it,” he said.

Kwankwaso noted that he had intended to advise Bala in a fatherly manner, stressing that the young politician—born in 1990—needed proper guidance.

He warned that Bala’s actions, particularly those involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), could be detrimental to his political future.

Using a pointed local metaphor, Kwankwaso cautioned: “I told him that he shouldn’t turn into the lizard at the mouth of the pot.”

He further called on the Emir of Gombe, alongside other emirs, politicians, and Islamic clerics, to intervene and advise Bala against actions that could create problems within the ADC.

“Whoever sees him should advise him to remove his hand from bringing problems to the ADC,” Kwankwaso urged.
