The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, has distanced itself from a histology report circulating online and allegedly linked to Ms Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of NMA Delta, Dr Israel Adaigho, and the Secretary, Dr Usaman Hannah, and issued in Asaba,
The association said the report was not issued to Okoro and did not originate from the facility being referenced in the online claims.
The NMA said the proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics, Dr O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist and member of the association, clarified that the laboratory is based in Asaba, Delta, and not in Enugu as alleged.
According to the association, Odigwe stated that the facility did not at any time issue a histology report to Okoro.
It explained that the laboratory was, however, contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to conduct a confirmatory test on a patient identified as Mbara Deborah, suspected to have breast cancer.
“The test was conducted and the result, confirming a case of breast cancer, was issued to the referring doctor on May 9, 2025,” the statement said.
The association further noted that a copy of that result, bearing the name Mbara Deborah, was the same document currently being circulated online by a law firm, Allen Juris Law.
It added that the version shared by the law firm represents the original report issued to the patient through her hospital.
The NMA said the clarification became necessary due to concerns over the alleged alteration of the report being circulated in connection with Okoro.
It urged members of the public to be guided and avoid being misled by unverified information.
Call for Investigation
The association also called on relevant authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate action to prevent exploitation of unsuspecting individuals.
“The integrity of the association and its members is paramount and should not be taken for granted,” it stated.
